Joseph Clayton's process of making shells in the UK for many centuries leather. It is all manual processing, explaining the following factors:
Production may take up to 6 months.
Need superb craftsmanship.
This is rare and only a few tanneries currently produce it in the world.
The correct shell cordovan is made from the horse's back/hip skin.
The round "shell" was simmered for six months by natural vegetable processing.
A glossy waxy surface for superior durability and softness is a character and versatility.
Clayton CORDOVAN is the choice of men and women who are willing to make an eternal fashion statement with their footwear, belts and purses and other items. Another use is to create finger protection sheets for recreational archery, which are cherished for their toughness, longevity and protective properties.
We make a range of colors, currently, Burgundy, Fuchsia, Black, Navy and Green - as shown above, we are currently unable to provide a "whiskey tan" color, as shown
