Yankee tannery produces full-grain vegetable tanned leather suitable for making bags, briefcases, portfolios, belts, wallets and small leather-goods. Our products are high-quality Fronts and Bellies hand-stained with a very good Quality/Price ratio. Moreover, we also produce rare printed Reptiles, Crocodiles, Lizard… The raw hides are tanned using traditional methods, using animal fats and vegetable tannins without addition of any synthetic agents, focussing on 100% nature-friendly materials. After tanning the leather is coloured by hand with an aniline dye soaked pad. The careful distribution of the aniline gives the colour its natural shade and the characteristic warmth that distinguishes the “TAMPONATO” leather items. Those traditional techniques, allow Yankee tannery to operate in full respect of environment. Our philosophy is to join the nobility of the leather, our handcraft knowledge and modern technology that guarantee high quality of our products in full respect of the environment.
The purlin can be used to make a variety of small things (wallets, ferrules, etc.), outer skin, and endothelium.
